This weekend, Woodlife Trails hosted the second and final Wildcamp Experience weekend at Hatfield Forest.
As with the previous weekend, the event was fully booked and 20 lucky people came into the forest to experience the wonderful forest.
Despite a couple of short, sharp showers, the weekend was sunny and warm and the participants enjoyed a number of demonstrations put on by JP and myself like night tracking, fire-lighting, knife safety, tracking and nature awareness and plant and tree ID. Some had a go at a few carving skills.
On Saturday evening we even had a go at badger watching. It was always going to be a challenge with 20 people but everyone at least heard the badgers snickering in the undergrowth.
This group were really attentive and everyone seemed to leave on Sunday with a new skills and an experience that they probably won’t forget in a hurry.
Thanks to the Woodlife assistants; Richard, Hannah and Beccy for the guidance and patience.
